The Spahr Center is a non-profit community agency devoted to serving, supporting and empowering Marin’s LGBTQ community and everyone in the county living with and affected by HIV.
The goal was to create a more modern brand that would represent the vibrancy, positivity and activism of the organization. The goal was to embrace the different and unexpected. This translated in the use of unorthodox layouts, colors and elements.
The main objective when designing a new website for the Spahr Center was providing users a clear and efficient method of referencing programs. Displaying all that content needed a simplification of their existing information architecture. I started with a content audit and strategy, then redesigned the user-experience to represent the content effectively. The last step was to apply the new visual style. Selecting photography became important because the client was looking to represent authenticity, while still maintaining a level of quality that represents their new brand.
