Verb Surgical

Building a Brand for the Next Frontier of Surgery

Verb Surgical was founded to advance what’s possible in surgery. Formed through a strategic collaboration between Johnson & Johnson and Google, the company brought together robotics, data science, and healthcare expertise to develop a new generation of surgical technology. The challenge wasn’t centered on a single launch. It was about sustaining relevance and belief around a highly complex platform over a long development cycle. The brand needed to build momentum early and carry it forward, supporting the technology as it evolved from vision to reality.

Brand Story, Design, and Development

At the core of the work was the development of a brand story that could hold technical depth without becoming inaccessible. The focus was on framing Verb Surgical not just as a robotics company, but as a system-level innovator shaping the future of surgery.

I worked closely with the team to evolve the brand’s narrative, visual language, and foundational design system. This included establishing a clear point of view, refining how the technology was explained, and creating a brand framework that could flex as the product matured. The result was a cohesive identity built to support advanced hardware and software while maintaining clarity, confidence, and credibility across every touchpoint.

Experiential and Event Creative

As the platform moved closer to external visibility, experiential and event-based work became a critical expression of the brand. These moments needed to signal progress without overexposing the technology, reinforcing momentum while maintaining precision and restraint.

I led creative and design efforts across experiential environments, presentations, and event assets that translated complex robotics and data-driven innovation into tangible, human-centered experiences. Each execution was designed to reinforce Verb Surgical’s forward motion, ensuring the brand felt active, intentional, and evolving rather than static or launch-dependent.
